MS Window 2008 Certification

Hi,

Why is is necessary to first get certify in Windows 2003 Server(MCSA or MCSE). Is it necessary for professional working in different platform like Linux, Sun to first get certify in Windows 2003 and then upgrade to Windows 2008. Is there any direct way to get certify in Windows 2008.
