MS Word vs Desktop Manager Powertoy

by chad_t . Updated 19 years ago

I’ve been running XP SP2 and using the Desktop Manager Powertoy — I love that thing.

I’ve noticed only minor issues. One of which is switching desktops while opening or alt-tabbing to another application. It seems that the application gets confused as to “what desktop” it’s supposed to be on.

I was opening a Word document, and switched desktops. When the application opened, I can see the icon on the taskbar, but Word is nowhere to be found — it looks like it’s been “moved” off-screen and/or resized to 0x0 pixels.

I’ve managed to access the application menu that allows me to “size/move/restore/[min-max]imize” the running Word instance. Maximize actually brings up Word, while putting it into “restored” mode makes it disappear again. When trying to “size” or “move”, I see the mouse icon change to indicate that I’m doing so, but there’s nothing under it, and it has no effect.

When I close and open Word, it remains in this “0x0” state.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know how to reset the Word startup dimensions?
