MSTSC (Remote desktop) consume 2 CALs?

Quick question.
I have an XP computer connected to a domain.
If I use mstsc to connect to a terminal server from that computer, will that consume 2 windows server CALs? (not the terminal server CALs, but the actual windows server CALs)

In other words, do both the xp session, and the terminal server session take up an available CAL?

All of our CALs are “per device”.
