multiple users crash network application

I need help getting started, I am new at this. I am trying to find out why a simple Macromedia projector program on the client side causes the network client to crash. The program is a simple keyboarding training program written six years ago for the education field. When more than ten users attempt to save their latest timing scores at the same time to the server it crashes the server client and all of the users get kicked off.

I have checked the client side admin logs and have found nothing that looks unusual.

Can someone recommend some steps to take from here? The origional software vendor has changed hands twice since the program was created and the current owner is not returning my calls or e-mails.
