My Floppy Drive

My floppy worked great when I was running Windows 98 SE. After installing Windows XP Pro; Now it won’t work at all, the lights come on like they always did. Device Manager shows it’s working properly. I checked the cables and drivers and it still says to insert disk into drive, even when there’s one in it. It just won’t start when I click it on in My Computer’s Window. Thank You
