My HP530 LAPTOP DOES NOT SHUT DOWN

please help to shut douwn my HP530 LAPTOP. whenever i want to shut down this system, it will begin shutting but after a while it stops and never shut down itself. what I have been doing since the issue started is that I press and hold the power button for 5seconds atleast to shutdown. Please help, this is unhealthy for me and my system. Thanks
