To whom it may concern:
A user calls me telling me her computer is having problems. Come to find out, her hard drive was shot. Anyway, I had to move another computer to her location because her machine serves as a proxy for the building she works at. I tried installing her external modem on that machine, but I am totally stuck. I installed the modem with the correct drivers. I go to the control panel and run the diagnostics on it and every test passes. As soon as I try to dial out, I received an error telling me that there is a hardware problem with the modem. I don’t understand why it passes all of the diagnostics tests, but it won’t dial out. Please help. (The modem is an external Hayes Accura 336 v.34 + fax)
Once again, Thanks.
