For 2 months now, I’ve been unable to forward large messages, over 2 megabytes, even though I can receive mesgs up to 10 mbytes. The problem occurs only with email clients. Webmail, works fine. Outlook Express and Thunderbird both halt part way through the upload. Both complain that the SMTP server quit. I tried a different account, borrowing one from a friend, and that didn’t help. I have a Motorola cable modem with Cox cable, a WRT54G Cisco router, and 3 computers (2 on Ethernet, and one wireless tablet). All 3 are affected. I have tried one computer without the router, and that didn’t work. I tried booting with Linux Knoppix (with the router), and that didn’t work (that is, Thunderbird with Knoppix failed. So, it isn’t a windows problem). I even reloaded Windows XP on one machine. The only thing that I haven’t tried eliminating is the modem. The modem doesn’t show any errors, and neither does the router. Cox support hasn’t been helpful. At one point, on representative told me to contact Microsoft. I hate to buy another modem, but its the only item, other than Cox cable, that hasn’t been eliminated as a problem. Anyone have any ideas on this?
