WINS Manager shows a second WINS Server (ip address 0.225.0.184) that I did not assign nor do I recognize.
Even when I delete the unwanted WINS Server it shows back up as soon as I close WINS Manager and open it again. When WINS Manger is openedit will try to verify the address and fail but it still shows up. I get a request timed out if I try to ping the address (0.225.0.184).
I have completely removed all files in the WINS directory and uninstalled WINS as a service and when I went to add the WINS server I want the 0.225.0.184 shows up again.
When I do add the WINS Manager address I want to use, and choose view the database in WINS Manager the 0.225.0.184 shows up as the only entry in the Select Owner box for the WINS server I just added.
Where is this address coming from and how do I get rid of it?
Using the Detail Information in WINS Manager it shows NETBIOS sometimes and TCP/IP other times for both WINS Servers.
We are running the WINPROXY product, and DSL through routers to several locations. All LAN workstations are doing fine, those running on the WAN are having inconsistent problems staying connected. The WAN workstations cannot be pinged by name, only by ip address from other workstations. The WINS server can ping the WAN workstations for a while by ip address only and then seems to lose them and need to be restarted.
I am assuming the trouble I am having with connections to the WAN workstations is related to this mystery ip address.
