Nasty PTPP blocks DSL connection

by alex . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

I have a small LAN that consists of 10 workstations and one server. The server -running windows NT server 4.0 Server Pack 6 -has two network cards: One connected to a hub, and the other one connected to a DSL modem that provides Internet connectivity through the server to the workstation.

I developed a Virtual Private Network (VPN) implementing PTPP Server and RAS Server. I configured the PPTP filtering on the network card that is connected to the DSL modem. When I enabled PPTP filteringand restarted the DSL connection is disabled or blocked. Is there a way around this so that I can enable PPTP filtering and keep the Internet connection? Will the VPN work if the PPTP filtering on the network card is disabled?

Some people suggested I edit the registry so that when I enable PPTP filtering the DSL connection is not disabled? Any insights???

Thank you for your help!

Alex
