Hi,
I am experimenting with Windows Server 2003 and
I would like to setup a web server (IIS). I
bought a domain (claytoncurmi.com) and pointed
it to my server (that has a fixed ip). The
server is equipped with 2 NICs, one connected
to the ADSL modem (speedtouch) and another with
my internal network. I can access the webpage
internally, however I cannot access it outside
the network. I tried to ping the server but it
failed (request timed out). I googled this and
found out that i have to set up a NAT and open
port 80 on the firewall. However this still
didn’t work! I tried various “how to’s” but
none seems to help. I switched off the firewall
and still the same.
Should i set up something on my modem?! Like a
default server?! below are the settings i have!
External NIC Config (connected to the modem)
IP: 10.0.0.1
SUBNET: 255.0.0.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 10.0.0.138
DNS: 194.158.37.196
Internal NIC Config (connected to the network)
IP: 192.168.0.1
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: none;
DNS: 192.168.0.1
What could be the problem?! Thanks in advanced.
Regards,
Clayton
