Need help printing over network from MS Publisher

I have recently set-up a notebook with network switching software so the owner can easily use it at work and at home, however we’ve have discovered that at home she cannot print from MS Publisher, (from MS Word is fine). In the printer settings for Publisher it lists the printer (Lexmark 1200 series) as being on virtual USB port 001, even thought it is actually attached to another PC in their house. The work printers show as being connected to a network location and work fine there, Question, how can I change the port of the home printer for use with Publisher? Is this the actual problem? Going to control panel/printer/properties/ports will not let me change anything…
