need network help

HI,
can some walk me through on networking. i have 5 mother boards and i want to connect all 5 of them. it is possible right. what are my tools that i’m going to need? i want to connect all four boards and the last will be the main board! is that possible? i’m not going to build and new pc, but i will lay all 5 mother on any design i can come up with.

i.e.
1) 2 boards + 2 boards (connected)
2) 4 boards connecting 1 (acting as main) to all four boards.

can this be done? i think i’m going to need all the help i can get!
