Netgear and Actiontec

I have a verizon DSL service. I bought my own DSL modem which is a Actiontec GT704. I also have a netgear Rangemax wireless router. I have the Netgear pluged into the Actiontec. I have it designed as a core(Actiontec DSL) and internal (Netgear). So you have the 192.68.1.0 network and you have a 10.0.0.1 network. The problem I am running into is, I work from home sometimes and I have to use my VPN Client for connection to my company’s network. Every time I try to connect it tells me that the device I’m is not operting correctly. Can anyone walk me through the setup for both devices? On the Netgear it tells me the LAN port link is down, and I’ve tried different IP’s static routes etc to get the link up and no go. Any idea’s?
