Netgear print server -did I buy the wrong one?

Bought a Netgear WGPS606 wireless print server so I could print from laptop without having to turn my desktop on. Desktop OS is Win2K, I have a wireless Verison DSL modem, an HP all-in-one 7310. Could not figure out how to connect the ethernet plug from the router to the desktop as I already have the DSL modem plugged in there. Can you connect the print server directly to the wireless modem? I tried that and got an IP address conflict that I cannot resolve. Did I buy the wrong wireless print server? or is there a better correction for my problem?
