Netgear print server problem

WE have a Netgear print server model PS121v2 that we are connecting to a Zebra label printer model ZM400. The print server shows online but the printer shows offline when added to our windows XP Professional PC. The connection from the print server to the printer is a USB connection. I’m used to the HP Jetdirect boxes using a parallel cable. Anyone have any ideas on why I can’t get the printer to show online or ready through windows?
