Netware Admin GW connection warning

by epait . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

I run a Novell 5.0 LAN at a CPA office for about 35 people. Recently I moved the email server from our other remote office to our office. The GroupWise 5.5 was set up with it’s own tree originally so I mapped a drive on my PC to sys of the GroupWise server so I can see the mail tree when accessing Netware Admin to add email users or edit info. Previously I had GroupWise 5.5 installed on my File server for only local access a year ago.

I notice everytime I access Netware Admin and try to look at a users details in either tree I get a warning:

GroupWise Connection Warning:

You are not connected to the GroupWise system to which this object belongs.

It shows the UNC path of my old GroupWise email Post Office or new path dependingon which tree I am in.

“Click connect or browse to make a connection to the appropriate Groupwise system before making changes to this object. If you continue without doing so, GroupWise info may be lost.”

The selection is “Connect”, “Browse” or “Continue”.

If I exit the message it lets me into the details screen of the object.

I have also globally disabled logins to the old GroupWise post office.

Anyone know how to correct this problem?

thanks,
Rob
