I have a Novell network ( 3.12) running Dos 6.22 that has a server and three workstations. It’s using BNC Network cards, and the workstations boot from floppy.
The problem is I can only get one workstation on at a time. If I turn workstation A off, workstation B pops up. If I turn workstation B off, workstation A will come back online. Sometimes I get a network error. It’s worked fine for years but one day one of the workstations locked up and once we rebooted, we could only get one computer on at a time.
I’ve replaced all of the cables, T’s, and terminators.
So my solution was to start over. I want to get away from the BNC so I’ve got network cards with RJ45. I assembled another computer for a server. Installed the dos partition. I created the SYS volume. I can also get it started copying files, but it will stop and take me to A DOS screen with a lot of code and wants to debug.
Any suggestions?
