Network card is active but can not be pinged.

I am running a Win 2003 server it sees the network addapter just fine I have even uninstalled it and reinstalled the drivers to see if it will fix the problem. But I am still unable to ping the server from a local computer on the same switch. I have IP address’s of 192.168.205.XXX and they both are on the save subnet. Any ideas.
