Network Client 3.30 Hangs up

I updated a network client from V2.51 to V3.30, and after the machine rebooted the login window freezes. This is a Windows 98 second edition workstation running on a Novell 4.11 Server. When I press Ctrl-Alt-Del and I end task on nwrecmsg (not responding) the login window becomes functional. After login, I get another program not responding (DPMW32). I have searched Novell’s knowledge base but did not get any hits regarding this problem.
