Network communication help please!

Computer A (Hostname: Alpha) is unable to talk to Computer B (Hostname: Beta) by name, but can communicate when using Beta’s IP address. Suggest a possible reason(s) why this may be the case and how the problem(s) may be corrected in the network configuration.
