/Me bangs head against desk
We have a small test lab at work. It connects to the world via a DSL line. Here is how its all plugged in.
(IPs have been slightly changed)
DSL line into DSL modem. The modems IP is 21.104.245.81 sub mask 255.255.255.240 our ISP gave us from .82-.94 to play with.
Ethernet from modem connects to outside ehternet port on CISCO 1800. IP is 21.104.245.82 same sub. Inside ethernet port is set to 10.10.10.1 and goes to a cisco switch. the 1800 is acting as a DHCP server giving out 10.10.10.15-254.
we have a netgear wireless router connected to the switch.
we have a CISCO PIX connected to the switch.I need help configuring the PIX to talk to the 1800. The outside port on the pix is set to 10.10.10.2 the inside port is set to 192.168.0.1 I want to be able to set my laptop IP to 192.168.0.10 and route through the PIX, through the 1800, and then out. something in the PIX config is broken because:
I can plug into the switch with my laptop get a DHCP lease from the 1800 and get out.
I can plug into the netgear(IP 10.10.10.10 default gate 10.10.10.1) with my laptop, get a lease from the netgear(192.168.1.5), and get out.
I can’t get out through the PIX
on another note: before the network broke the inside port on the 1800 was set to .83 however when i try to set it that way I get an error: ether1 ip overlaps with ether0. WTF? can you not set the outside to .82 and the inside to .83?
