Network drive will not sync

At school we have a personal network drive for our files. For some reason, the network drive will not sync with my school laptop. I have a class that we use the computer lab but the computers delete everything every time you log off which is why I save the files to the network drive. When I log onto my laptop and go to file explorer, I go to my network drive but it never syncs. Please hep because I would like to get the files on my laptop so I can continue assignments at home.
