Network help plz

ya ive got a wired d link router EBR-2310 and its been worken just fine with our cable modem and we just switched to dsl through qwest it seems like ive tried every combo of possible ways to set up the router but i cant get it to work with the new modem the internet works fine when just directly hooked up to one computer but it doesnt work at all when going through the router if someone could tell me the proper way to set up the router that would be awsome im not that experinced in networking problem but i can normally figure things out i just need some general instructions cause it seems like ive hit a dead end
