network printing under Windows XP

I have a network printer attached to a DSL modem/router that has been working fine until the last two days. Now, no Windows applications can print to the printer; all I get is a “Document failed to print” popup.

However, I can still print from a DOS application where I first use a “Net Use” command to relate the printer to LPT1.

It doesn’t matter which of the three computers I have attached to the router (one via WiFi); none of them can print from Windows applications.
