Hi all,
I am looking to setup an all-in-one solution server. Pretty much my friends company purchased a Dell Pe840 and would like the server to do the following;
– File server
– Database server(SQL)
– Email (EXCHANGE)
– DHCP Server
They also want remote management, so VPN, and some sort of backup/security.
What would be your approch to this.
This is what i was thinking.
Get a Cisco 1811 router and do site to site vpn, and behind that try to get another machine with ‘Untangle’ for security and what not. For backup I was thinking to get Symantec BackupExec for windows and have it go onto and external drive that they can take home.
Any suggestions? I was thinking to charge 75$/hr or between $1500 and $2000. What do you think?
I know this is not a good idea but they get what they ask for.
