Network Services Won’t Start

by t3sos . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

I’m trying to fix a laptop running Win XP Media Center on it that got buggered up by a few viruses (thanks to my daughter removing her NAV!) …..everything was going well until all of a sudden all Networking Services Stopped and will not restart. It says they’re marked for deletion. AND I get Error 1075 and 1068 and 126 and a few others. RPC, BITS, and several other services simply won’t start, System Mechanic won’t start, Norton AV won’t start. AND I can’t get the Intel Wireless to show me her connection properties so I can put in a valid IP address to get her past my router….
I can’t even copy and paste files around on the desktop!

Can anyone help me fix this? Do I need to run a repair program from the Repair console or do a setup repair instead.

I’ve tried running Dial-a-fix and that didn’t fix it.
