Network setup problem

I have an ACTION GT701-WG gateway for Qwest DSL. I am tring to connect a system through a Dlink DI-604. The Gt701 sees activity on the ethernet side, The DI604 sees nothing and will not access the internet. Is there any way to get these two routers to talk. Qwest says they can’t help because I am involving another router. Any help will be appreciated.
