Network share problems

by ericfeige . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

Hello all. We recently added a new Windows 2000 server to our NT4 network. The old BDC was upgraded to Win2k and the new server was added after that. The user profiles and mapped drives were pointed to the new server. Throughout the day, many ofmy users report to me that all of a sudden, they lose access to their mapped U: drives and user folders (My Documents, Profiles….) on the new server. Especially when they are working in Office 2000 and they try to save their work, they’ll get themessage You do not have access to the folder ‘U:\’. See your network administrator for access to this folder. Sometimes they can get to the new server through Network Neighborhood and sometimes they have to log off of the network and log back on again to fix it. I upgraded the server to the latest service pack and the problem persists. I’ve searched the net and haven’t come up with anything. Any words of wisdom?
