I’m having hard time understanding why network share works when I am using my wi-fi connection but not when i’m using LAN. Let me clarify:
I have 2 computers under Windows Pro XP. Both of them are connected through a wireless router.
Computer 1 is connected using wi-fi.
Computer 2 (used more as a server) has wi-fi and LAN, but I would prefer to have it connected with Ethernet.
– Now, when the server is connected to the network using the wifi card, computer 1 can ping, see share folders and remote desktop the server (computer 2)
– When using Ethernet cable, computer 1 can ping and remote desktop the server, but can NOT see any shares. It’s not even possible to map a network drive. It’s like computer 2 can not even be recognized when trying to map a drive
Can somebody tell me how I can fix it? I tried several things with no success? I am out of ideas. Any suggestions are welcome
