Network Users

I work in an institution with about 15 users. Recently an employee left her job but we have yet to delete her from our system. One of the terminals is currently still using her IP address and all the software is registered to her. What happens to the IP address once I delete this user from our Network? Can I assign to another user? Thanks in advance for answers.
