been beating this thing around my head for weeks.
I have a client who runs a financial software by allied business systems. they installed the new software on the following scenario:
1 new dell desktop used as a server. running windows xp pro of course. two client computers per office running the same software. The server is a program and file server. The program and it’s database are on the server.
THE PROBLEM: on some of the client computers which are refurbished compaq evo systems once you log into the software and scroll through some of the loan files, the program locks up and you have to exit out and re-enter the program to work again.
it happens on an inconsistent basis, sometimes a few names, other times it can scroll through multiple pages of names before it eventually locks up again. the execution file pegs out the cpu usage and has to be ended.
WHY? I’ve changed hard drives, changed cables, removed dell network bloatware which was causing some issues early on. I’ve done everything I know how to do and still, several offices have this phantom issue.
please…. I don’t have any more hair to pull out! let me know if there are missing aspects I should include in this post. thanks~
