Networking a restaurant

I’m meeting a prospective client who requires his restaurant (seating around 100 customers) to be networked, I think, between the guest area, cashier and kitchen. I have not networked a restaurant before, and would appreciate any suggestions on how best to design this type of network as well as any software that could be recommended.
