hi,
i have test to ping from the dns server 203.126.241.50 to the practise PC which is 203.126.241.55 and i can ping to the router which is 203.126.241.49 and i also can ping to the praticse PC 203.126.241.55 from the dns server.
i still facing prob of ping from the practise PC 203.126.241.55 to the server 203.126.241.50
I try to ping to external IP address like (yahoo.com – 216.32.74.50 ) and (melodyland.net – 64.84.42.236) and i got respond from the external server.
When i am using the command ping 216.32.74.50, it gives me the respond 64 bytes ……………..
but when i am using the command ping yahoo.com or www.yahoo.com, it seems like hang and no respond given.
After that, i try to ping to some singapore wbsite like (www.sp.edu.sg – 164.78.252.4) using the command ping 164.78.252.4, it didn’t show me any respond. i also try other singapore website like ( www.tp.edu.sg – 152.226.64.143) it also gives us no respond and seems like hang there.
i was very curious why i can ping to non-singapore website or even yahoo.com but cannot ping to my dns server and some singapore website.
I refer my dns the newtorking configuratuons and follow the excat the same like:
ip address: 203.126.241.55
Netmask:255.255.255.240
Network:203.126.241.48
Broadcast:203.126.241.63
Gateway:203.126.241.49
the nameserver i refer to our ISP which is singnet.com.sg
I can ping to 203.126.241.49 which is our router, ping to 203.126.241.48 which is our network Ip address, i can ping to 203.126.241.62 which is our gateway and able to ping to yahoo website – 216.32.74.50 and external non-singapore websites.
I was trying to find out what is the major prob and still cannot get the reasons.
