Networking Two Laptops Using Wireless

I am refering to this article http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bowman_02april08.mspx Everything is fine up until the sharing connection section the Host computer isn’t issuing an IP via DHCP. I get the usual 169.254.81.82 address when no IP address is being issued. I have tried using static IP’s but I am still getting no internet connection.

Any ideas?

By the way I am just trying to share one internet connection (which is not a wireless router obviously) between 2 laptops which both have wireless. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
