Hello. I have a new server I built from the ground up. I have four SCSI drives installed on an Adaptec 19160 card. These are Ultra 160 drives with 80pin connectors. Found only way to connect was to get SCA adapters that convert it to 68pin. Anyways, I set my SCSI IDs just as explained for SCA adapters, and one of my drives is not found. I have tried different configurations but i have nothing! This is how they are set
Main O/S drive: ID0 (no jumper)
HDD 2: ID1 (jumper on ID0)
HDD 3: ID2 (jumper on ID1)
HDD 4: ID3 (jumpers on both ID0 and ID1)
Any help would be appreciated.. Only one drive is not recognized..and its making me crazy.
Also is it okay to mount two SCSI drives next to each other because of lack of room? They seem to run very hot. I have a hard drive fan on the two large drives, but the other two are next to the floppy and I can’t put a fan there. I do have an extra fan in the case however. Thanks for any help!
