The new server is running Server 2003 Standard and is set up as a terminal server only. There is a working terminal server in the network running Server 2000 that is accessible from our remote locations using Remote Desktop however the Server 2003 cannot be accessed. When trying to log in to the 2003 Server through RD the user gets the generic “Remote Desktop disconnected. This computer can’t connect to the remote computer.” message. The firewall on the 2003 server is turned off. A Remote Desktop connection to the 2003 server can be made on any computer in the LAN but not the WAN. Also cannot ping any computers on the WAN from the Server 2003 machine. Remote users have been added to the Remote Desktop Users group on the 2003 server and Remote Desktop has been enabled. I am new to Server 2003 so there may security settings I have missed that are not available or have defaults in Server 2000 allowing the access to the 2000 server.
