First off, let me say that besides reading a good bit of material on the technical aspects of enterprise VOIP lately, I’m still unclear on quite a few aspects of it, and that I’m probably leaning towards the Cisco Unity solution, based on past experience as a user (and not on the deployment side). Our current infrastructure/network looks like this: about 100 users, 5 MB symmetrical inet pipe, Cisco ASA5510 firewall, mix of Cisco 2970 and 2960 switches, and a Nortel Norstar PBX (with 2 PRI’s). We do not have a router of any kind right now, and just use static routes in the ASA for going outside the network. We do business only inside of only one state at the moment, but within the next two years, we do plan on doing business in three other states, and probably almost doubling the user base. Budget is not all that much of an issue. I understand that there’s many more questions to answer before even beginning planning stages. What I am interested in at this time is based on the little information what I mentioned about my network, what are the bare essentials (hardware and software) for getting an enterprise VOIP pilot up and running? Thanks.
