I want to design a network for a 5-stories family building. Each story has 4 appartments. Each appartment has four 20-Mbps connections. These four conncetions are for Internet, Telephone, Television, and Video-On-Demand respectively. Some of the features are inter-apartment calls and wake-up calls. There will be a server farm. Also, There real estate company wants payment reports of the services used. Performance and utilization are most important and then reliability.
The question is how to design this if we say the company is willing to pay in the range of $350,000-$450,000.
Note: the building cannot go beoynd 8 stories, in case the companies wants to add more stories. Also, the real estate company knows nothing about networking, all they want is some design that fits the budget and will perform well.
