Nic Speeds

I have Nic cards that are 10/100 and now have bought a SMC router switch that is supposted to be faster. yet Im still sending data at 10mps with the switch. The drivers for the nic do not have any options to select what speed to use.. How do I get nic cards to txmit at 100mps.. thanks all
