We have a network of 35 users with most of them using Windows 95. Every time one of the users shuts down their workstation and restarts they get the message “No domain server was available to validate your password…”, the message is a little different on NT machines. The users have to keep trying to login until the server finally responds. We have a PDC, a BDC and an Email server all running NT4 with service pack 6a. We also run on DHCP. Sometimes a user cannnot login until they renew iprelease and renew ip addresses. I have tried setting static ip’s for some machines and also extending the lease on them, but it has not worked. I have read the problem could be related to the LMHOSTS file, but we do not use it here. Help!
