NO JET DIRECT CARDS QUESTION

All of our network printers are attached directly to a workstation and are acccessed via NDPS for network printing. No jet direct cards. My question is simple. Does this type of setup contribute to an excessive amount of broadcast traffic? If so can you tell me why or point me in the right direction for an explanation?
