“no server avail” from win2k server

I’ve migrated an nt server running Small Business Server to Win 2k server. All seems to be running fine with the existing users but when I set up a new user account I get the “no server available” message on the client machine when trying to logon . The server seems to accept the new account without a problem and shows it in the user list.
