No Shutdown / No DOS Win 98

My Win98 hangs in shutdown now, booting to DOS just hangs. Had: Linux/Win98 with a 3.1gb / 6.4gb. LILO required 3.1 to boot. I put in a 20gb using DriveImage. After I moved it and disconnedted the 3.1/6.4 I got the problem. Any idea why. Any Ideas on how to correct (reluctant to just reinstall-98. I did a SYS C: after booting a Win98 Startup disk, didn’t help. Haven’t looked in previous memos/FAQ, will try that also.
