Non-English characters in server 2008 user names?

I am studying to take the MCTS 70-640 exam. Being a Norwegian I have an å in my name. When writing a command in PowerShell I get this error

dsmod failed:CN=H?kon …:Directory object not found

where ? should be å. Anyone know a fix or workaround or should I apply for a new name?
