Non-Genuine Windows XP logs on then off automatically, no recovery CD

by thatcatdavid . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

There was malware on a clients computer. I downloaded Avast then ran it and deleted some files which were no doubt important, now I when I boot I can log in but then am automatically logged off. The Windows XP in question is not a genuine copy, there is no recovery disk. What can I do?
