Not connecting to internet

I was connected to internet by a D-Link ADSL router over the LAN. I am using a desktop PC with a D-link NIC and it works fine but when I connect the same network cable to my laptop which is having Intel(r) PRO/100 VE Network adapter I could able to connect to the LAN but internet is not working. All the PCs in the network obtain IP add automatically. could anybody help me to solve the problem?
