NT 4.0 Server with Two NIC’s Installed

Recently a built a Compaq Proliant 800 using NT 4.0 server with two NIC’s installed. One is the embedded Ethernet and the other is an IBM PCI Token Ring NIC. Each card is connected to different LAN segments with different IP address, but the same subnet and different gateways. The DNS and WINS are the same IP.

The other thing I noticed is with both cards enabled is I can see all my servers using the Newtork Neighborhood and can attach through Server Manager.

The issue I am having is whenI try to ping a DNS alias or an IP address outside of my segment, it times out. When I disable the embedded card, it works.

Any clues?
