NT and Novell Mixed network

I am running an NT 4.0 server with service pack 6 and the new Novell client4.71, and pervasive btrieve for Novell. I can make the Nt server log into our Novell 4 network but, then the btrieve will not work. If I make a registry key entry for NT to make the Btrieve work, that I was told is necessary, the Nt server will not log into the Novell tree anymore. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.
