NT password issue

I have an exchange server that keeps locking out of its account. I have changed the password and typing the correct one and it is still locking me out. This is an Excange server version 5.5 that crashed a couple of days ago. I brought it back and ever since then it has never been the same. Is something currupt in the sam database?
